Anyway this morning as i was getting ready to head out to go do that dreaded history exam I began on my daily routine of moisturizing and toning and removing all that oil from my skin and whatever, and as usual i checked to see if it was working, even though it's only been a week. so far the left side of my face is smooth visibly and to the touch, but the right side of my face is getting there somewhat. The reason i began on this journey is because i have Keratosis Pilaris.
Its kind of a skin condition that begin in your teens and from what i researched, it doesn't go away until you're in your thirties, great right?! it's caused by a build up of keratin beneath the skin and blocks the hair follicles and so these little bumps form, they don't scratch or anything but it's not that great to look at. Anyway i read that moisturizing is key and so i got some tips and decided i would try them out. The condition actually blackened my skin, the area where the bumps are and to make it worse, it spreads. I started noticing them when i was in third form/9th grade. when girls would ask what's that on your face (I attend an all girls school) and i just brushed it off and said it was a heat rash and Jamaica is tropical and it's practically hot all year round, so i guess that 'heat rash' would never go away.
Anyway three years later and I've finally decided to get rid of it if i can.
For starters I use Nuetrogena Transparent Bar for acne prone skin
Thanks Bestfriend :*
No, the bumps arent anything like acne but i use it to get rid of any dirt on my face and oil and i do have acne, so yeah.
Next I moisturize with Eucerin
Thanks Bestfriend :*
Then I apply Palmers Fade Skin Success Fade Cream to even my skin tone
Kudos Gab :*
I apply everything in that order and twice a week I exfoliate. I use a natural exfoliator for now, I'm gonna get the neutrogena brand exfoliator but that's on hold.
Here's the recipe for the exfoliator if you wanna try it
1 pack of Folgers Ground Coffee
3 tablespoons of brown sugar
Olive oil (pour and mix until it looks really wet, i don't remember the exact measurement)
These four products combined are really helping, the bumps have decreased in size, and are getting even smaller, that's good and hopefully in a month or less i'll achieve the perfect skin tone and smooth skin.
