Goals: A definition
Hi everyone. My finals are over. I'm at home eating everything and it's all good for now. I've been thinking a lot about a lot of things mainly:
TwistedM
- Goals: A definition
- Time: A concept
- Life: A journey
- Misfortune: Fortune
But the main things, for this post anyway are Goals. The past school year, a blur if you should ask me involved a lot of decisions making and loose living. Living life loosely and the main reason many live life loosely is for lack of passion and lack of goals. Sometimes goals even trump passion. Passion is like the extra wheel some people keep in the back of their car, it aids. It's help, But goals, those are the fuels and I believe goals define you. So the best way to know someone is know discuss their goals and work ethic.
Cause many, and I mean many of us have goals, a house, a car, a baby, a sugar daddy, all the trivial things , the dream Jamaican dream of a three story house in Norbrook or any other affluent residence. For example should you ask someone, Why are you in school and the response is to get a job. Fine that's cool and all but then you ask another person the same question, and the response is well detailed for example, "I hope to become a lawyer, focusing mainly on Constitutional law, I think the constitution is acknowledge by the common man, there needs to be more forums educating civilians on the provisions, etc...." I'd think it's safe to say that person is more likely to work towards an A in the course don't you think? Not to say the other individual wouldn't, because my perspective these days is to view most thinks subjectively ,, rather than wipe details away with a rag of objectivity.
In most scenarios the first respondent is likely to just be following the route set out by society. a route very well trodden. The second respondent while on the same route, hopes to acquire a wealth of knowledge he/she can apply to their life and contribute to attaining his/her goals.
So basically I'm saying, set goals. Goals aid in getting through life and feeling like you have a purpose they also help to ground you in your discipline and if you can't dissect any goals from whatever you're involved in , then maybe you should step back a little and do some introspection. Try to recognize your purpose and what you're really working for.
I saw someone make a joke saying "I can't wait for all my friends to complete university to come work in the call centre with me". But the gag is, no one really expects to remain in a call centre with a university degree or that remain on the ground floor for very long and there's a high possibility that they'll come see you there and leave you behind as they move on the other opportunities or high positions. So why try to belittle what others are doing? The state of the economy is a cause for concern , yes and there are call centres popping up everywhere it seems, but there's more to a call centre than being an agent, yes? and so persons can work toward that and if the goals is to get a degrree, work in a call centre, and move up the ranks then that's the way to go.
Allow your goals to be your definition, the ones you made in omission already are anyway.
"Be defined by who you are and what you are"
