Growing, Glowing, Skin Care Routine

So, I just updated the blog's look, (Finally,I wanted something more modern) and as I was sifting through the posts I realized that I haven't mentioned anything concerning my skin care journey, I just dropped the post 'Boom' and left it at that.  I tend to do things like that a lot, well anyway here I am with some information.

Yeah so, remember when I said I have Keratosis Pilaris?(Click Me!!) yeaah, visited the Dermatologist last summer and he said it was something else that I don't remember the name, at that point I was just about ready to give up on this whole skin thing and look like a mug. But the thing about routines is that once you start it gets hard to just stop.  Previously, the Palmer's that I was using started lightening my skin to where my lips were noticeably darker than my skin, I have naturally dark lips call it a blessing or a curse. I can't have brown skin, I'd look like I smoke and I'm not here for that appearance. Then all my stuff ran out except for my coffee scrub but that left too much oil on my face and with no cleanser I couldn't continue using it. So I looked for alternatives for a while and let me tell you  Cornmeal and Egg is the best scrub in this world. Immediate results, I'm talking about smooth glowing skin.
Anyway since school resumed, I went out and got some more products to get this thing under way, because while I can't permanently remove the issue, I can soften it,I found that moisturizing helps a lot, the bumbs are hardly noticeable.

  • Bought two ointments (dermatologist prescription)   Didn't work
  • Sunscreen.   I didn't leave the house without it, it actually helped and my complexion lightened slightly (note: I do not strive for light skin)
  • Clean and Clear face wash, Neutrogena deep clean face scrub and Palmer's skin success fade cream.
I got all those in the first semester, as aforementioned the ointments didn't work. Unfortunately I stopped carrying the sunscreen around and the Clean and Clear cleanser just keep my face feeling fresh but didn't really make much of a difference. The Neutrogena face scrub was bomb and I still have it, However the Palmer's didn't work this time around and I slacked with the application of the product because I just had too much to do, plus the cream is thick so it takes a lot to rub it in.

The good news to all of this is that I realized that Neutrogena products work well for me so I repurchased the transparent acne bar this semester as well as a small container of Shea butter, as far as moisturizers go ,Shea butter is a good bet. I used to have some dry skin that would flake right at the start of my brows and as soon as I used a little moisturizer *poof*, and I received a tube of Neutrogena oil free acne wash, and I steam my face once a week.  My skin isn't exactly where I want it but I notice the changes as the days go by and I'm grateful so while I still have this unsolved skin issue, at least the rest of my face is looking good right?   Last thing on my list is a toner and I'll get that this week or next, but so far so good.

TIPS:
-Use the products as directed, so If it says wash twice a day, ensure you're washing twice per day, morning and night. That's how you get fast results.
- Allow the product to penetrate the skin, so you might want to leave it on for about 2 mins before rinsing.
- Be patients, the spots wont come off in one wash.
- Get a container for your products ( I learned that the hard way)
-If you have oily skin washing with water only won't cut it.
- Leave those bumps alone, you don't need any new spots, especially those menstruation bumps, they disappear before you know it. DO NOT POP THEM.

Love the skin you're in, Improve it too.
Happy Skin Clearing 😚
